Scope. High-density LiDAR capture of a rail corridor: track, turnouts, signals, catenary or third-rail infrastructure, platforms, bridges, tunnels and lineside assets, together with the surrounding terrain.
Method. Mobile LiDAR scanning from a hi-rail platform produces a georeferenced 3D point cloud of the entire corridor in a single pass. The cloud is classified — rail, structures, vegetation, ground — and analysed for structure gauge and clearance envelopes against your loading gauge requirements.
Deliverables. Classified, georeferenced point cloud; asset inventory with locations and attributes; clearance analysis reports flagging infringements; vegetation encroachment mapping; and 3D models ready for design, simulation or asset-management systems. Combined with our GPR and geometry services, the result is a complete picture of the corridor — above and below the ballast line.
